Recipes & Pairings for the Working Professional

With four trusted platforms in the pantry

A good professional life is not unlike a good meal. It rarely depends on a single ingredient. In this small volume we share four trusted platforms, with notes on when each is best used. None replaces the others entirely. The most satisfying results come, as in cooking, from combining them with care.

Recipe № 01 · Always in the pantry

The Linkedin Loaf

A daily staple of the modern professional kitchen

cost

  • 1 complete profile
  • professional headshot
  • headline (well written)
  • experience, freshly listed
  • connections to taste
  • weekly posts, optional
  • premium upgrade (if needed)
  1. Combine profile elements thoroughly. A well-prepared profile is the foundation of every other use.
  2. Add the job board, recruiter visibility, and content feed in any proportion. All are part of the same recipe.
  3. Allow connections to develop slowly over time. Quality matters more than quantity.
  4. Season with regular posts or comments. Engagement, like salt, should be used with restraint.
  5. Owned by Microsoft since 2016. Trusted in over 200 countries.
Still the closest thing to a complete meal for most professionals. Almost everyone has it in their kitchen for a reason.

  • 1 updated resume
  • job search filters
  • quick apply, generously
  • glassdoor reviews
  • salary data, fresh
  • interview prep, to taste
  1. Upload your resume to begin. The recipe is fast by design.
  2. Apply filters according to location, salary range, and industry. Stir together.
  3. Use Quick Apply liberally. The Indeed broth is meant to be sampled widely.
  4. Before any interview, fold in the Glassdoor companion: reviews, salary data, and interview intelligence.
  5. Serve while warm. Best consumed during active employment search, not stored long term.
Pairs well with anything else in the pantry. Does not provide networking; do not expect that flavour here.
Recipe № 03 · For the adventurous

  • 1 startup-ready profile
  • salary expectations (be honest)
  • equity preferences
  • direct messages to founders
  • 150,000 startups in stock
  • remote-friendly filters
  1. Build a startup-ready profile, light on corporate language.
  2. Browse 150,000 listed startups. Every listing comes with salary and equity disclosed: there is no need to ask.
  3. Message founders directly. The recipe rewards this approach.
  4. Filter for remote roles if preferred. Many companies are open to this.
  5. Best paired with a willingness to work in early-stage environments.
Outside of the startup section of the pantry this recipe loses its character. Use accordingly.

  • open evenings, set aside
  • willingness to introduce
  • name tag (optional)
  • lunchclub AI matches
  • 2 million events per year
  1. Search for groups in your area aligned with professional or personal interests.
  2. Sign up for an event. Set aside an evening.
  3. Attend in person. Introduce yourself to two or three new people.
  4. Pair with Lunchclub for one-to-one AI-matched meetings.
  5. Serve in person. The recipe does not transfer well to screens.
No jobs are served at this table. The dish here is relationships, which often turn out to be more nourishing in the long run.
